LSG would be crestfallen as the likes of Krunal Pandya & Deepak Hooda couldn’t make an impact with the bat in hand. LSG all of a sudden were in deep trouble at 105-4 in 10 overs as they required 112 runs to win in the last 10 overs. The spinners were getting ample help from the surface.

LSG need to strengthen their lower middle order as Ayush Badoni was seen struggling and was used as an impact player. The England all-rounder Moeen Ali was awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant all-round show in the match against the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants. Moeen Ali contributed 19 runs off 13 balls with the bat and in the second innings bagged 4 crucial wickets to help his side seal the victory.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, Moeen Ali said that he tried to bowl like he used to bowl in the longest format of the game. He added that his partnership with Mitchell Santner was nice. Moeen Ali also lauded skipper Dhoni, saying that he knows when to use his bowlers very well.

“They have big hitters. Almost tried to bowl like Test cricket. Tried to spin the ball. The combination was nice (with Santner). The partnership worked well.”
