Rishi Sunak will field questions from the public this evening as the Prime Minister gears up to host the People’s Forum, live on GB News from 8pm.
All eyes will be on the Prime Minister this evening in the first event of this year’s General Election campaign.
The audience members and their questions have been selected by polling company Survation, so even GB News doesn’t know what’s coming.
Survation have selected an audience made up of undecided and swing voters – meaning the PM is braced for questions on a wide variety of topics.

Speaking ahead of the event, GB News’ Editorial Director Michael Booker said: “It’s time for the people of this country to have their say and the People’s Forum is the perfect place for that to happen.
“Politicians have been telling the Prime Minister what he should be doing for a long time – now it’s time for the people who really matter to put their questions to him. As an election looms, it’s going to be a fascinating night.”
People’s Forum presenter Stephen Dixon added: “This is exactly what GB News was created for – bringing those in power before the people of this great nation.
“The Prime Minister will come face to face with the voters who lent the Tories their support. Can he keep them?”
The event, held in County Durham, will kick off at 8pm.
With the Conservative Party sitting more than 20 points behind Labour in most polling, this evening’s event is a key opportunity for Sunak to persuade voters that the Tories’ time in office is not yet over.

Speaking to Michelle Dewberry on GB News this evening, Pollster Matt Goodwin said: “In this room later, I suspect we’ll be looking for is where is the big vision. Where is the change on immigration?
“Where is the change on the political economy? Where’s the levelling up? Where is all the stuff we were promised after Brexit, which was never just a vote to leave the European Union.
“It was a vote for a completely different country, a completely different political project. Has Sunak really understood that?”
He added: “What was interesting is when Team Sunak came in, we were told that the adults were back in charge. Because you had just had Boris Johnson and partygate and Liz Truss and the Conservatives collpasing in the polls.
“The big promise for Sunak was, he’s the guy that will get the party back together.
“But if you look at the polls, in every measure of party strength, the Conservatives are weaker today than they were when Rishi Sunak took over.
“Their national poll rating has collapsed. They’re not trusted on any single issue over the Labour Party, maybe with the exception of defence but nobody, to be honest, is going to vote at the next election based on what happens in Ukraine or the Middle East.
“His ratings are now at a record low. He trails behind Keir Starmer on every measure of leadership, he’s only won one of the by-elections they’ve faced and that was in Boris Johnson’s seat – so arguably the Johnson factor was probably more relevent there thant the Rishi Sunak factor.
“So I’d be saying, you said the adults were back in charge. So where’s the turnaround? Where’s the comeback story? There isn’t one.”
