The leader of Reform UK, Richard Tice is set to make an announcement later today.
The event, which has been described as “major” is taking place at 10.30am today.
The party scored double-digit vote shares in both the Wellingborough and Kingswood by elections, finishing third place in both.
Speaking at the election count in Rochdale, Tice said it had “not been a free and fair election.”
He said: “Unfortunately the behaviour of certain candidates and supporters means this has fallen well below our tradition.
“What we witnessed here is deeply disturbing. Our candidate and campaign team have been subjected to death threats, vile racist abuse, been refused entry to hustings in council buildings and had to be re-located for their own safety. They have suffered daily intimidation and slurs.”

Richard Tice has ruled out a pact with the Conservatives

Meanwhile, there has been speculation about possible defects from the Conservative Party as well as a potential return for Nigel Farage.
Tice has repeatedly ruled out any kind of pact with the Tories ahead of the election. However, he did not rule out opening the door to Lee Anderson after his suspension from the Conservative Party, saying MPs considering defection “have my number.”
Last week, he criticised Jeremy Hunt’s budget, calling out “toxic Tories” for raising inflation.
He said: “Well this Budget was proof that you can’t polish a turd because the British economy, after years of mismanagement by the toxic Tories, is in recession. Despite Jeremy Hunt’s promises and the promises of the Office for Budget responsibility this time last year that it wouldn’t happen, it has happened.
He continued: “Per head this recession has gone on for almost two years, the longest since records began. This Budget continues more wasteful government spending, wasting tens of billions on net zero.
“The Bank of England continues to waste tens of billions of your cash on enriching city institutions. He’s frozen the tax thresholds on income tax. He hasn’t listened to Reform UK’s excellent plans to create genuine economic growth.
“This is a Budget by the Tories that will mean no growth and all of us will feel worse off, poorer and frankly it’s just more of the same. The sooner the election comes, the sooner we kick them out, the better.”
