Former Immigration Minister warns of ‘mass migration’ as UK cities are ‘leading segregated lives’
Press Releases

Former Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick has warned that mass immigration into the UK could spark “segregated lives” being lived within the UK.

Robert Jenrick told GB News: “When we were within the European Union, we were predominantly attracting people from the EU and from other like minded countries who share our values like the United States, Canada, Australia.

“Today that is somewhat less and are being replaced by very large numbers of people coming from other parts of the world. I think there’s a number of problems. One is that some of those countries are not countries which share our Western liberal values. And so when you allow a very large number of people to come from those countries, you have to accept that it will change things in this country.

“And you do see that in some of the events of recent months, for example, like the protests over guards, where I think there is a link to mass migration within that, and that worries me. I do worry that there are real challenges with integration in our country today.

“You only have to go to communities like Bradford or Leicester near to where I represent to see that there are people leading segregated lives there and I don’t want to see that as the future of our country. I want us to be a well integrated, united, cohesive United Kingdom.”
