Punjab Kings (PBKS) won a nail-biter against Mumbai Indians (MI). PBKS won the match by 13 runs. Arshdeep Singh nailed perfect yorkers in the last over of the run chase and gave away only 2 runs and took 2 wickets in that over. Arshdeep Singh knocked off Tilak Verma & Nehal Wadhera’s stumps in the 20th over.

It looked as if Arshdeep Singh was bowling on a different surface as he not only took 4 scalps but gave away only 29 runs on a flat track. We should not forget that Nathan Ellis played a key role as well, he broke the threatening partnership of Cameron Green & Suryakumar Yadav by getting rid of Cameron Green.

Suryakumar Yadav would be dejected after not being able to wrap up the game. Suryakumar Yadav rediscovered his mojo and scored 57 runs in 26 balls and struck 7 fours and 3 sixes. The destructive batter’s dismissal in the 18th over changed the complexion of the match as there was too much pressure on Tim David.

PBKS earlier while batting went all guns blazing despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Harpreet Singh Bhatia & Sam Curran unleashed an attack as the duo was involved in a partnership of 92 runs in 48 balls. It seemed as if the message from the dug-out was to play a fearless brand of cricket as skipper Sam Curran played a fine knock of 55 runs in 29 balls as he struck 5 fours & 4 sixes.

MI after winning 3 on the bounce have got a reality check. MI’s bowlers conceded 109 runs in the last 6 overs which is unacceptable irrespective of the conditions and now will have to make some tactical changes. PBKS on the other side would be jubilant as they have climbed to the 5th spot in the points table with 8 points and an NRR of -0.162 whereas MI are placed in 7th position with 8 points and an NRR of -0.25

I feel even happier as the team won- Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh was having an interaction with the commentary panel after the end of the match. Arshdeep Singh stated that he has shortened his run-up which has helped him to avoid bowling no-balls. Arshdeep Singh also pointed out that he feels happy when he contributes to the team’s win.

“Feels good whenever I take wickets. Right now I feel even happier as the team won. I have shortened my run-up as it helped me with the no-ball problem and I am enjoying my cricket at the moment. Danny (Morrison) you should come and stand next to me (when bowling the final over), the heartbeat is not even close to 120,” said Arshdeep Singh
