Time is running out for Sir Ed Davey, the leader of the Liberal Democrats.
It’s clear, and Sir Ed has now accepted it, that when Post Office minister during the coalition in 2010 he made a huge mistake by not listening to Mr Bates when approached to take up the case of the wronged sub-postmasters.
Instead he swallowed the story from Post Office executives that it was crookery, not tech, that was leading to cash disappearing from the businesses.
So 14 years later- and thanks to the ITV drama the chickens have finally come home to roost for Sir Ed.
And it happens in General Election year where the Lib Dems are forecast to do well.

Intelligent voters will think twice before putting their cross against his candidate’s name. And so they should.
Sir Ed is always calling for somebody to resign. I see on Twitter that since April 2019 he has called 31 times for somebody to go. Could be Thames Water, Boris, Rishi or Cummings.
My advice to Sir Ed is to take his own advice and go himself.
