Press Releases

Britons have blasted leader of the opposition Keir Starmer claiming he offers “nothing better than Sunak.”

Last night, GB News hosted the People’s Forum, which saw the current Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in a grilling with GB News viewers.

However, it seems he may have swayed some members of the People’s Forum as views were mixed on leaving the event.

Elizabeth Chad from Darlington spoke to GB News after the Forum. She said: “I think he’s done OK in a difficult situation and he hasn’t had the time.

“I think politics is in a bit of a mess at the moment, but I don’t see an alternative to him.

GB News reporter Jack Walters asked her: “So is there no one in the Conservative party, or even Keir Starmer himself, who leaps out at you and you think could make a good leader?

Chad replied: “Definitely not Keir Starmer, I’m afraid.”

John Davies who is also from Darlington agreed that Keir Starmer is not the “best suited” to the Prime Minister role.

He said: “I don’t like him at all. I am pretty certain that I am going to stick with Conservative.”

Simon Neal from Sunderland said: “I have nightmares about Keir Starmer becoming Prime Minister.

“If he becomes Prime Minister there’s a good chance my kids will end up doing national service, I would have thought.”

He added: “I think that he just makes it up as he goes along.

“The young people love him and they have got their blindfolds up.”

Elizabeth Chad said that she is a religious GB News viewer and revealed what it is about the channel that makes her keep coming back.

She explained: “You get different sides of the story and it’s a little bit more interesting.

“It’s not the same as you get on all the other channels, they all have the same sort of headline.

“They get a lot of interesting people on the panels and lots of different points of view. And I like that.

“That’s helped me formulate my opinions about politics and ideas and things.”

Starmer has faced one of his toughest days so far today as he was forced to make an embarrassing u-turn to remove his backing from Labour’s candidate for Rochdale.

The Labour leader’s handling of accusations of anti-semitism levelled at Labour’s Rochdale by-election candidate has been labelled “shambolic”.

Starmer initially stood by Azhar Ali after it emerged he had suggested that Israel deliberately relaxed its security in October, ahead of the Hamas attacks, following warnings of an iminent threat.

But he later withdrew his support for the candidate yesterday evening, saying “new information” had emerged.
