Biden ‘less trusted’ on border crisis than Trump
Press Releases

Joe Biden is “less trusted” on border issues than Donald Trump by American voters, according to top pollster James Johnson.

He joined Patrick Christys on GBN America to assess the political landscape in the country as it gears up for this year’s election.

Trump and Biden are both in pole position to clinch the nominations for their respective parties.

But the southern border crisis could be the clincher in November, according to Johnson, which could be a positive sign for Trump.

“There is absolutely no doubt that within the first month of Biden taking office, he signed a series of executive orders that loosened rules on the border”, he said.

“That is now coming home to roost for Biden and Trump is able to use that attack line very convincingly.

“If individual Democrat candidates can prove they can take action on the border, maybe they can lance that boiler a little bit come November.

“The overall picture is, Biden is seen as less trusted on the border than Donald Trump.”

But Trump faces a problem in how he is seen as erratic by US voters, according to Johnson.

He told Patrick Christys that he may be able to alleviate the issue as Americans view him as someone who “gets things done”.

“There are some concerns out there about Trump’s temperament”, he said.

“They think he is dramatic, tough and a bit rude.

“But they also think they can get things done.”

Biden will point to his administration’s record of more than 6.3 million migrants being detained crossing into the US illegally, more than under Trump, Obama or George W Bush.

He has faced an unprecedented spike during his tenure with record numbers of migrants making their way across the border.

Factors such as pent-up demand after lockdown and global migration trends have been blamed for the issue that Americans are growing increasingly incensed by.

Polls suggest that more than two-thirds of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the issue.
