Their sensational performance saw SRH reach an unprecedented 125-0 in the power play, establishing a new milestone for the highest power play score in T20 cricket, including the IPL.

Thanks to their explosive batting, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) set a groundbreaking record in T20 cricket by amassing 125 runs in the first six overs of the game. This was the first time in IPL and T20 cricket history that a team had recorded such a monumental score in the powerplay.

By recording the highest power-play score in T20 cricket, including in the IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is truly defying all imaginations with their remarkable display in the ongoing season.

Well, apart from the duo, Shabhaz Ahmed (59* off 29 balls) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (37* off 27 balls) also played resilient knocks to help SRH post a daunting total of 266/7 against DC.

SRH also equaled their own record for the most sixes hit in an IPL match with their tally of 22 sixes against Delhi. Later, SRH managed to restrict DC to 199 to win the game by 67 runs, with T Natarajan recording impressive figures of 4/19.

I’ve been really a big fan of Travis Head: Abhishek Sharma

Meanwhile, after the DC vs SRH match in Delhi, Abhishek Sharma revealed that the SRH was targeting scoring beyond 266 runs on the board, but he was happy with the team’s performance.

The SRH opener also credited Travis Head for his explosive performance as an opener this season. He said that he always admired the Australian batter and is really enjoying opening with him for SRH in the ongoing IPL 2024.

Abhishek Sharma at the post-match press conference: “I think we targeted more than that at the first after six overs we decided a bit more but I’m really happy with the team. There was a message today that just assess the wicket but I think Travis did really well in that and I just wallowed in.”

Speaking about his experience to batting with Head and its impact on his game, the Indian star said: “It’s always pleasure from day one. I’ve been telling him that I’ve been really a big fan of him from day one because I’ve been following him from last one year and obviously, he’s in our team and we are lucky ones. Obviously, that’s one of, I guess one of the point that you don’t have any pressure of the other end so I can just go and express myself.”
